Canik TP9SF Elite is a medium-sized model of the TP series this model deserved the title of the elite due to its ambidextrous slide stop, brand new design trigger safety mechanism, Warren type fiber optic sighting and closed striker cover mechanism along with shortened grip size.

Its frame design is modified compared to the previous TP series to ensure a flawless shooting experience. The trigger reach distance is also shortened with improved design of trigger safety, therefore shooting comfort of women has increased considerably.

The 9x19mm Luger cartridge combines a flat trajectory with moderate recoil. In 2014, the FBI released a report detailing the potential combat effectiveness of the 9×19 cartridge when compared to other calibers such as .45 ACP and the .40 S&W cartridges that were specifically developed for use by the FBI.

The report indicated that the new powders and more advanced bullet designs used in current 9x19mm Parabellum defensive loads allowed for the caliber to deliver similar performance to other calibers like the .45 ACP and .40 S&W.
